J-Rom is the moniker used by guitarist Jerome Covington for his work in
the field of electronic minimalism. Through a variety of techniques, including
processing his gu
itar and other sounds in different ways, Jerome is able to
explore textures not available to him in his usual working format as a guitarist
for rock and jazz bands. The Micro Groove series is a group of three songs
built off of subtle shifting beats and acoustic and electric guitars. Marigolds
and Moonbeams further extrapolates on these textures with the addition of
warm keyboards, layered guitar soundscapes and snippets of dialogue.
Jerome hails from Flagstaff, Arizona but has called Brooklyn, New York his
home since 2002.
