Ampulex Compressa, A.K.A Piper Alpha (Gareth Williams) & Beep (Barry Farrimond),
are a Bristol based production partnership formed during summer 2003. They come
from relatively different musical backgrounds, Gareth from live guitar and noise
manipulation, and Barry from beat shafting and didg blowing. They met during
their time on Bath Spa's Creative Music Technology Degree course and are
currently working on their live set having spent the best part of a year designing
the software to play it on (expect joysticks, gestural control and perisonics!). A
12" release is expected for later this year.
